The Disection Of A Plant and The Infinite Space

I just added the abstract paintings me and Daniel painted to my Etsy page.
Give them a look if you're interested...Click HERE!

We have two more canvases like these, so we may paint some more.

I Love You More Than Being Seventeen

So after I finished this guy I couldn't just not paint the other four. So it turned into a mini series. I didn't want them to be just plain portraits, so I played around with texture, most notably with their clothing. I'm thinking about doing other bands...Maybe.

This Is What Happens When You Watch The Lion King Part I

I feel like lately I have been really unfocused and only moderately busy. So this past week I decided to put some more energy into painting and drawing again. I have been trying to get back into water color again, but have only been doing so with black and white paintings. This time I gave color a shot. I started with small post card size paintings of animals. It was easy to get the hang of it. Each one took me about half an hour. I think I'm probably going to do more... and maybe eventually go bigger...

Finally Done.

A while ago me and a friend started some abstract paintings. I don't usually paint a lot of abstract paintings. It's not really one of my favorite genres, but at the time it sounded like a good idea. It took me a while to finish it. Actually, I'm not even too sure it's finished. I put off working on it for a long time, because I didn't have any direction for the painting, and I simple did not want to waste paint.

When I finally got an idea in mind for what I wanted to base my painting on, I got to painting. The idea I had came from a documentary I saw. Without getting too much into it, I had this idea of deconstructing a plant, and what that would look like in an abstract manner.

I used acrylic paint and painted on an all wooden canvas I built.
The canvas was 24" x 24"

This is the painting Daniel painted. His inspiration was space, and the idea that something so big as a planet, is nothing but a tiny spot compare to the whole universe.

These are some close ups of the same painting.

Even though we started our paintings at the same time, he was done with his about a month before I was done with mine. He doesn't normally paint, but I really like the way his painting turned out.

I'm not sure too sure we will turn into abstract artists...
but somethings it's nice to try something new.
...They are both for sale by the way. Send a message
my way if you're interested in either of them.

Some Kind Of Still Lifes

My attempt at old dutch still lifes. Obviously not quite there, but its the thought that counts...right?

Even If You Like It, You'll Never Understand It.

I have good memories of selling this painting. Don't know too much about the person who has this now, but he seemed really into it, which made me happy. Thanks for the beer money dude.

This Is Meaningless But It's How The Cool Kids Do It

It started out as a present for a friend's birthday. I didn't know what to paint, which happens more often than not. After a while I just started to splash paint onto the canvas. I started to paint random objects and worked out a composition. I started to think about people who paint random things together without any thought or without it meaning anything. The only real reason they do it is because they think it looks cool. This became more of a satire, and the accidental start of the endless series.

Jackson and Pollock

Yesterday me and Daniel decided to paint some abstract paintings. We used the canvases we built. When I was painting I realized I don't really paint a lot of abstract paintings. After about ten minutes I realized it was because doesn't interest me as much. So far they both look pretty good. They both also need a lot of more work though. I'll update after we work on them more or finish them.
