I've Just Seen A Face...

So this weekend I spent much of my time drawing. I got some nifty new pens,
and couldn't really wait to use them. I knew I wanted to draw some portraits,
but I wasn't sure who I wanted to draw.

John Lennon was the first portrait I started. I didn't initially think I was going to do
the rest of the band members, but once I finished John's portrait I figured why not?

This is a close up of the drawing. I decided to try doing a drawing made out of scribbles again. It's hard to get a picture of the detail, but you can kinda get the picture.

Paul was the second one I did. After I finished the portrait,
how could I not do the other two.

I really like using this technique with pens.
The mistakes don't seem so big when I use it.

I liked how they all came out. I think it would be
cool to do draw other bands, maybe.

I definitely want to do more portraits in this style.

If you would like a similar drawing of a different band or
artist, send a message my way. We could work something out.

I put these portraits up for sale on my Etsy.
Check them out if you'd like.

Figure Drawings Part V

This is the last of my figure drawing posts. I didn't really organized them so it's not like I'm saving the best for last.

I did this one with indian ink...kinda treated it like water color.

Night and Day

The other day I impulsively bought some pretty nice pens. I want to start drawing a lot more. I've started to look at a lot of pen drawings from different people and kinda got inspired. I want to concentrate on pen and ink for a while, but I have a couple paintings that I've already started. So I guess I'll try doing both.

This drawing was done for my drawing class I took a couple semesters ago. It's the same drawing, with different lighting. It was a 20 minute portrait on newsprint paper, done with a pen.

From A Picture...Whiskey Friends Edition

(click on the picture to make it bigger)

I wanted to do another drawing made up from scribbles. I liked how my first pen/scribble drawing came out, so I wanted to do another one. I really like drawing with pens. Everything is final, obviously...you can't erase pen. So whenever I would mess up on something, I had to get creative to fix it.

My City

For the last few weeks I've been working on this new drawing. I don't work on it regularly. Whenever I'm bored, or have nothing else to do, I bring it out and start to draw. I'm using pen. I'm drawing on a 18x24 sheet of britol paper.

I'm not sure where it's going. I have some ideas, but not sure about them just yet. I don't want to think too much with this drawing. I do that a lot. I over think and over plan most things in my life.

There's a lot going on, but it's kinda like how I feel my brain works sometimes. I have a lot of clouded thoughts. It makes it hard to focus. The constant counting doesn't help too much either. I want to start working on it regularly. There is someone I want to give it to.
